Know the numbers: The NFL's bad week impacts election 2014?

The NFL has just come off a terrible week because of deplorable actions both reported and confirmed about all-stars Adrian Peterson and Ray Rice. Ray Rice's punching of his now fiancee, caught on tape, has not only caught the ire of many Americans but also a number of U.S. Senators. 16 female Senators signed onto a letter urging NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to institute a zero-tolerance policy on domestic violence. According to the The Hill:

Every female Democratic senator signed on except Sens. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) and Mary Landrieu (D-La.). Landrieu is facing a tough reelection race. Republican Sens. Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.) and Susan Collins (R-Maine) signed the letter, while Sens. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) and Deb Fischer (R-Neb.) did not.

While much of the focus is on the Senators who have signed the letter, the few that didn't seem to be making their own waves. Knowing that none of these women are supporters of domestic violence there must have been another reason to stay away from a petition whacking the NFL.

Taking a look at some of the numbers Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA) might have focused on football fans fans in her home state of Louisiana.

According to L2 data - Democrats in Louisiana with a Voter Frequency Score of 6, 7 or 8 and who also have an interest in football numbers at 47,193 the number of Non-Partisans in that category: 7,101. Landrieu who is down by between 1 and 3 points (among likely voters) to her nearest Republican opponent, Rep. Bill Cassidy, maybe looking for any way possible to stay out of trouble, including with NFL fans.
