Texas 2026 Primary & Recall Returns Are Now Live in L2
After a nearly seven-month statewide delay, Texas election returns are now available in L2. The latest update incorporates 2026 Texas Primary and Recall election history, giving L2 clients access to the newest participation data for millions of Texas voters.
The updated voter history is available now in L2 DataMapping and can be used alongside L2’s demographic, geographic, consumer, modeled, and political data to analyze the Texas electorate and build highly targeted voter universes.
What the New Data Shows
The addition of the 2026 returns provides a fresh look at the composition and participation patterns of both Democratic and Republican primary voters in Texas.
Among 2026 Democratic primary voters, women represented 61.2% of the electorate. The data also shows a substantial number of voters who had not been consistent recent primary participants: 37.4% had voted in zero of the previous four primaries.
Additional characteristics include:
- 18.2% are identified by Haystaq models as activists.
- 43.6% are White, 31.2% Hispanic, and 14.3% Black.
- 17.0% are Spanish speakers.
The Republican primary electorate shows a different demographic and participation profile. Among 2026 Republican primary voters, 49.4% are age 65 or older, while just 6.0% are under 35.
Participation among these voters has also been relatively consistent: 73.1% voted in all four recent general elections, while 25.1% participated in all four recent primaries. The data also shows a notable increase in presidential-year primary participation, with 66.3% participating in the 2024 primary compared with 39.4% in 2018.
Demographically, Republican primary voters are 74% White, 11% Hispanic, and 2% Black, while 57.5% live in households with incomes of $125,000 or more.
